Virtually Speaking Overview
Online presentations can be dynamic and engaging!
Appropriate for small to large audiences – one-to-three hours –
Face-to-face communications can be much more forgiving than virtual presentations. In virtual sessions such habits as speaking too quickly, using repetitive fillers or up talk, distracting gestures, poor eye contact, rambling, lack of word emphasis and/or unclear messages are but a few of the communication faux pas that stand out and distract from achieving the speaker’s goals. Knowing how to set the stage before the presentation is crucial to keeping audiences interested. And, designing online experiences that utilize platform tools creatively and effectively is key to keeping audiences engaged.
Virtually speaking participants will learn how to:
- set the stage for a compelling delivery….from lighting, background, sound and grooming to framing and using the camera effectively
- identify the critical verbal and non-verbal online presenting skills necessary for effective delivery of trainings, presentations and meetings
- understand what it takes to prepare, rehearse and present in a manner that keeps audiences involved and enhances their experience
“When it comes to online presentations and meetings it’s helpful to think of yourself as a broadcaster and your studio as a combination of your lighting, background, camera work and sound!” – Joan Lowery
